Snoring and sleep apnoea

Around 40% of people in Germany snore. Snoring is not only perceived by fellow human beings as disturbing – the quality of sleep of those affected can also suffer significantly. In addition, some snorers also develop sleep apnoea, which can also occur independently of snoring. Sleep apnoea causes respiratory delays during sleep, which can entail dangerous health risks.

As a dental treatment option, in both cases, certain mandibular protrusion splints can be used with a special pulling mechanism, which are worn during night sleep. As a result, both the respiratory air circulation and the jaw position can be corrected, so that noise can be minimized and breathing improved.
