Surgical Endodontics

In most cases, it is possible to completely fill the root canal system starting from the occlusal surface. However, when pins or strong calcification make it impossible to penetrate, the remaining part of the canal can be cleaned and filled from the tip of the root.

This is done in connection with a small surgical procedure to gain access to the root-tip. In this process, the actual tip of the root is removed (apical resection). Using very fine sonic and ultrasonically-driven instruments, the canal is cleaned from the bottom and then densely filled.
